Yup. A late night trip to the ER.
According to many people I'm a big wimp. Whatever. The cut on my ankle looked and felt weird My whole ankle and started to swell up and there was this big red circle around it with what looked like sunbursts literally growing out of it before my eyes. Hmmm. Internet research was inconclusive and talking to friends made me realize I a) should have scrubbed my cuts earlier and b) shouldn't be having a reaction like this. Off to the ER. I had a fever (ahhh, so that's why my ride sucked yesterday). The very nice doctor gave me a very stern lecture, which got worse when he noticed I had other cuts that I hadn't mentioned and were also infected. Solution: An IV of some wonder antibiotic and then ...

wonder drugs. With a stern warning to take all of them and not cause super bacteria that could wipe out the planet.
Although I will be killing some innocent bacteria, I don't feel all that bad about it.
